The Launch into Blog World!

I had guests this past week. Kentaro, a former homestay student and his fiancee came from Japan for a visit.
I told Kentaro and Chiyoko about my idea to start a blog for all my former homestay students--to help them stay up-to-date with what's happening with their 'American mom" and perhaps with each other. (Hmmm, do you think reading a blog might also help them remember their English?)
Anyhow, Kentaro and Chiyoko thought a blog would be a good idea and they gave me permission to post their pictures. So, here's to new beginnings in the wonderful world of blogging!

Kentaro, my first post is dedicated to you and Chiyoko! Thanks for your encouragement to go ahead with this idea.
It's been 12 years since you were a homestay student and I'm glad you made the trip back 'home.'
It was fun playing games together. That keeps the mind sharp, you know, and is especially good for retired people like me.

Looking at the picture albums brought back lots of happy memories. I wonder if Peter remembers the 'gang' hand signals he taught you back then? (No, don't worry. Peter wasn't a member of any gang, but he was certainly an astute observer!)

Now that I'm retired and have 'more time,' (Who am I kidding? Any retired person will tell you it's the busiest time of their life!), I plan to write about my experiences as a homestay mother. Stay tuned. I'll try not to bore you. But, please cut me some slack (aren't American idioms fun?) as this Homestay Mama learns to navigate her way around the wonderful world of blogging.
Here's to keepin' in touch!
Love from,
Homestay Mama

  2. Thanks for your comment. Those were probably my own views--trying to get the hang of the blogging world, as in what shows and doesn't show, etc. I'm a slow learner! LOL I may be calling you for pointers! Like in how to add the decorations around the border, etc.
